Welcome to devry university columbus ieee student branch

We are a group of people that come together to have fun with technology. There are meetings weekly Thursdays at 5pm in Room 116  to talk about coming events and other things. If you are interested in electronics then join us.

What IEEE is 

The IEEE, a non-profit organization, is the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology. 

The full name of the IEEE is the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc., although the organization is referred to by the letters I-E-E-E and pronounced Eye-triple-E.

Who the IEEE Serves 

Through its global membership, the IEEE is a leading authority on areas ranging from aerospace systems, computers and telecommunications to biomedical engineering, electric power and consumer electronics among others. 

Members rely on the IEEE as a source of technical and professional information, resources and services. 

To foster an interest in the engineering profession, the IEEE also serves student members in colleges and universities around the world. 

Other important constituencies include prospective members and organizations that purchase IEEE products and participate in conferences or other IEEE programs.

In addition we would like to fill the following new positions:

If you have been an IEEE member for over a year at regular grade or higher and can volunteer a few hours per month to attend the meetings, I would highly encourage you to consider joining the executive committee. It is our great pleasure to inform you that Dr. Hojjat Adeli, a professor at the Ohio State University, has been selected as a 2011 IEEE Fellow. He has a distinguished record of accomplishments that were highlighted earlier this year in Leadership in Engineering, published by ASCE (attached).

Dr. Adeli is a professor of civil engineering. He has contributed a great deal to computer aided engineering. IEEE awarded the Fellow grade for his contributions to computational intelligence in infrastructure engineering.

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Adeli for becoming an IEEE Fellow in our section. We will recognize Dr. Adeli at our 2012 Spring Banquet.

Abstract: This program will discuss the fundamentals of performing analysis of electric power markets and how this analysis can be applied to electric transmission system planning.

Presenter: Craig D. Lockwood P.E.
Craig Lockwood has over 7 years of experience in transmission system planning for electric utilities, including both system reliability analysis and electric power market analysis. He is currently employed by American Electric Power as a Lead Engineer and is heavily involved in developing AEP Transmission’s capability to perform market analysis. Prior to joining AEP, Craig was employed as a Transmission Planning Engineer at American Transmission Company, located in Wisconsin, where he performed both market analysis and reliability analysis in support of several Extra-High Voltage transmission projects. Craig holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.
